Centre Square Montessori Schoolhouse and Centre Square Academy are schools, but we understand families sometimes need care beyond the school day. Extended care is available from 7:30-8:30am before school and from 3:00-5:00pm after school. Children are supervised by Centre Square Montessori Schoolhouse staff members. Pickup after 5:00pm incurs an additional $50 charge. Contact Centre Square Academy for more information.
What this looks like in practice
In a typical extended-care room, the pace is slower than the school day. Children arrive and settle with a quiet activity while others trickle in. Staff stay with them, moving between tables. If you visit, look for a clear sign-in sheet, a posted schedule, and a space where children can choose what to do. Ask how the room handles snack, rest, and outdoor time.
Extended care matters because it gives a child a calm bridge between school and home. A quiet hour after class can mean a child who is settled by dinner. A gentle start before school can mean a better morning for everyone. The benefit shows up at home as a child who has had time to land, instead of one who carries the whole day into the evening.
