We believe children discover, explore, and learn at their own pace. Montessori education focuses on individualized learning, hands-on experiences, and a lifelong love for learning. The school began in 1972 as Happy Hours Montessori at Olivet Church. In 1975, Patricia McNicholas built a three-room red schoolhouse at the current location. Today, two schools sit on a six-acre campus on historic Skippack Pike in Blue Bell, PA.

Classrooms are calm and uncluttered, with materials arranged on open shelves a child can reach. A toddler might scrub a table, a nursery child might sort colored tablets, a kindergartner might build the thousand chain. Teachers observe and guide rather than direct. The day flows from one activity to the next without bells or rushing.

Visitors often notice the quiet. Children work alone or in small groups, absorbed in tasks they chose. A teacher kneels beside a child to show a new step, then steps back. The mix of ages means older children help younger ones. That is how the family-like setting builds social development day by day.

A child arrives and hangs up their bag. A teacher greets them by name and they walk to the classroom together. The room is ready: materials out, chairs sized for small bodies. Morning work begins quietly, with a teacher nearby if a child needs help settling in.

Mid-morning, children choose work from open shelves. Some gather for a small-group lesson. Lunch is brought from home and eaten together. After eating, younger children rest on cots while older ones read or finish projects. Outdoor time follows if weather allows.

The afternoon is calmer. Children finish work, tidy shelves, and gather belongings. At pickup, a teacher might tell you what your child practiced or built that day. You leave knowing one concrete thing they did.
